Was that done by another car or a human type vandal? What a creep either way. And no note?? A pox on that person and everyone under his/her zodiac sign I say!
Oh boy. That is not fun. Happened to me twice. Just a heads up...local junk yards can be a big help. At the suggestion of my car guy I called the one in my area the last time it happend and bought the mirror from them (you just have to let them know the make and model of your car and they can ususal check for you). Then I took the part to my local car shop. It was much cheaper than having the part ordered. I see in your picture more than just the mirror looks banged up, so I don't know if that would be an issue or not. Check with your car guy first. good luck!
lol!! Although I have to admit to causing some damage a bit like this (though not to this extent) one evening. It was winter and dusky and I was on my push bike coming home from work. Cars were double parked but the road was clear so I pulled out and carried on when someone pulled out of a side street and nearly cut me up...I had to swerve very quickly to avoid being hit and nearly took the wing mirror off a parked car with my hand and handlebars. I bled all the way home and it swelled so much that I had trouble getting my glove off!
Looks like it was broken by a vandal who has little respect for other peoples property as there is no accident damage to the rest of the car. Should your daughter find out who caused the damage make 'em pay big time.
I hate when that happens, and more so when they don't leave a note apologizing. AND to add hurt, you don't dare claim it on your insurance because all that does is make your premium go up :o(
Oh, how horrible. :( We've returned to our car to find damage, too, and it is such a terrible feeling to know that someone can do damage and not take the responsibility.
Believe it or not, I've done that twice to my own car by running up to close to a post. Duct tape will work until your daughter can have it fixed. Trust me! Blessings!
Just brought back memories of our oldest son's first new car... hadn't had it long at all and the sad part was, it was his fault :-( Duct tape worked well and happily, his car was the same color gray as the tape... back in the day! Thank you for stopping by my blog last month; I'll be sure to visit yours often!
I'm familiar with this view! My husband insists that the taco bell sign jumped out from behind a bush and ran right into him! I can tell you not to waste your time on the liquid/epoxy type of fixes at the parts stores...what finally worked for ours was a well placed screw! I was horrified but you really don't notice it at all! Thanks for commenting on my blog...I'm following you back from http://asktracyann.crochethappy.com/
I am so sorry. My daughter's car was just hit and left too in a parking lot. I could never think of doing something like that. She ought to get some cool duck tape to use!
New follower here! Thanks for following me. I am so happy to have a big blog follow my baby blog! LOL Maybe your daughter can get some of that cute Hello Kitty duct tape. Poor mirror.
I'd make it my life's mission to track down the culprit, bind his/her hands, legs and mouth with duct-tape, take him/her to a secluded place and then ... ... Or perhaps I'm getting carried away!
oh no!!! :( someone knocked into her car?

Did s/he at least have the decency to leave a note with his/her info taking responsibility?
ReplyDeletesmiles...been there...happened on my previous car...duct tape and superglue...stinks someone did that...
ReplyDeleteEwwww thats no fun :/
ReplyDeleteArgh! And yes, duct tape is indispensable.
ReplyDeleteWas that done by another car or a human type vandal? What a creep either way. And no note?? A pox on that person and everyone under his/her zodiac sign I say!
ReplyDeleteYikes!!! That makes me :(
ReplyDeleteoh wow.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! That's horrible. So sorry :( Following you back! XO
ReplyDeleteOh no!
ReplyDeleteCrazy.
ReplyDeleteoh man! that's the pits!
ReplyDeleteouch!
ReplyDeleteThat really hurts in the pocketbook.
ReplyDeleteWe are all assuming that the driver of the other car took off. I am hoping that was not the case.
ReplyDeleteWell, poop, that really stinks!
ReplyDeleteOh boy. That is not fun. Happened to me twice. Just a heads up...local junk yards can be a big help. ReplyDeleteUgh! That stinks! We've had our fair share of people damaging our cars and not taking responsibility :(
ReplyDeleteOh no! That really sucks!
ReplyDeleteOh my....thankfully it wasn't worst. I'm a new follower. Sorry it's been so long so I've been on. :)
ReplyDeleteOh NO! We had something similar happen to my husband's Tahoe not once, but twice!

Duct tape cures many ills.
ReplyDeleteDuct tape temporarily but get it done properly later.
ReplyDeleteBTW it's not cool at all what hit-and-run-mr.niceguy did.
That is soooo 'not very nice'...
ReplyDeleteThat's not very nice.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Not a good sight!
ReplyDeletelol!! Although I have to admit to causing some damage a bit like this (though not to this extent) one evening. It was winter and dusky and I was on my push bike coming home from work. ReplyDeletethis is just nasty!
ReplyDeleteNot nice at all! Did they at least leave a note?
ReplyDeleteoh no :(
ReplyDeleteOhhh, so not cool :(
ReplyDeleteDamn that sucks!
ReplyDeleteI hate when that happens, and more so when they don't leave a note apologizing. AND to add hurt, you don't dare claim it on your insurance because all that does is make your premium go up :o(
ReplyDeleteOh, that's terrible!
ReplyDeleteYikes!! Duct tape is a girls best friend, that and a butter knife!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
AWWW that stinks!! Why are people so rude? I don't suppose someone left a note or would that be expecting too much?
ReplyDeleteOh no! Duct tape does fix many things though!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW :)

Oh no!!!!
ReplyDeletepoor thing! note to self: send duct tape to college with all freshmen...
ReplyDeleteThere are no words..except for maybe, YIKES
ReplyDeleteCollege living at it's finest. I remember waking up to find my windshield wipers gone and two of my tires slashed.
ReplyDeleteOh, how horrible. :( We've returned to our car to find damage, too, and it is such a terrible feeling to know that someone can do damage and not take the responsibility.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how wordless I would have been had that happened to me :(
ReplyDeletebummer!
ReplyDeleteBummer indeed.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I've done that twice to my own car by running up to close to a post. Duct tape will work until your daughter can have it fixed. Trust me!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
That's too bad, and not nice when someone does that and doesn't take responsibility for it.
ReplyDeleteUgh!
ReplyDeleteThe very first week I had my new car I took it through the car wash and came out like this... luckily the car wash paid for it, but still...
ReplyDeleteThe good news...duct tape comes in all kinds of great patterns and colors these days. :)
Stinks about her window.
Just brought back memories of our oldest son's first new car... hadn't had it long at all and the sad part was, it was his fault :-( Duct tape worked well and happily, his car was the same color gray as the tape... back in the day! ReplyDeleteOy! That stinks! I guess duct tape would be the best quick fix. :)
ReplyDeleteAwww that stinks! I once did that to my own car by hitting a mailbox when I was driving to work...the sad thing is it was a business mailbox.
ReplyDeleteHow awful! I'm sorry that happened to her. On a lighter note, thanks for linking on my Picture Perfect Party Linky!
ReplyDeleteRotten stinker!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. No way someone did that and didn't realize it.
ReplyDeleteGot the t-shirt. I could never afford a car with retractable wing mirrors.
ReplyDeleteI'm familiar with this view! My husband insists that the taco bell sign jumped out from behind a bush and ran right into him!

Thoughtful mean to measure time and life.
ReplyDeleteA safe road ahead for her.
I am so sorry. My daughter's car was just hit and left too in a parking lot. I could never think of doing something like that. She ought to get some cool duck tape to use!
ReplyDeleteWhat a drag.
ReplyDelete"/
Not nice...
ReplyDeleteThankfully the duct tape is doing a pretty good job! Glad I could provide inspiration for WW
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! Good think duct tape will work- but it is still not nice to find something like that.
ReplyDeleteThey do make duct tape in colors now, I actually bought a roll of red to repair a taillight while waiting for the new one to be shipped.
ReplyDeleteThere is no greater earthly good than duct tape.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Duct tape has saved the world, hasn't it? I think rear view mirrors are too big. I've seen more knocked loose than I can remember.
ReplyDeleteNew follower here! Thanks for following me. I am so happy to have a big blog follow my baby blog! LOL Maybe your daughter can get some of that cute Hello Kitty duct tape. Poor mirror.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is too bad. I hope the duct tape works.
ReplyDeleteI'd make it my life's mission to track down the culprit, bind his/her hands, legs and mouth with duct-tape, take him/her to a secluded place and then ... ... Or perhaps I'm getting carried away!
ReplyDeleteThere are two things I love about this post:
ReplyDelete1. It shows just how scary it is to park on a college campus.
2. Duck tape solves everything! :)
Thanks for following my blog! I've stopped in to say hello and I'm now your newest follower! :) I look forward to following along!
