Another Reason Why I Could Never Be a Teacher

7th grade teacher to class, "What are some things that can help you as you prepare for this PSSA test?"
Student  "Teamwork"
"Can you explain this more?"
"If I don't know the answer on the test, I just asked my friend sitting next to me. It is like coach always says, 'teamwork! teamwork!'"

  2. Lol, hmm is that what they are calling it nowadays? I thought they would say consult my smart phone, which has most of the answers on it!

  3. I teach 7th grade and it so sounds like something they would say!

  4. Completely logical - from a 7th grader's point of view! You have to give them an "A" for creativity!

  9. I wouldn't have thought of that in 7th grade.....well, maybe thought it but would not have said it nor consider doing it. Would have been too afraid of the Wrath of God....and that of my parents =)

  18. By the time I was in 7th grade our teachers were no longer hitting us, kicking us or yanking the hair on the back of our necks for those kind of answers. But still, I would think twice before saying something like that. Glad your 7th grader didn't have to!

  25. Lol...you have to give them credit for thinking outside of the box!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now that is some intelligent thinking!

  27. Today, a fellow teacher was telling her 7 year old, if you think someone will copy your work, if you think you will copy someone's work. You use another book to cover your work.

Dear Momto8, thank you for following Friko's Poetry and Pictures. I actually say on the blog, that it neither follows nor comments on other blogs. The poetry is just my own pleasure and not really aimed at a large following. My main, blog, Friko's World, is the sociable one.

  42. State testing starts in just a few weeks for my 7th grade math students. I wonder if it's too late to teach them "Team Work"! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. hahaha, this is so funny! though hope they don't grow in that kind of team work.

    ReplyDelete
  44. LOL that's so funny!!! Funny how kids interpret things!

  45. I have taught 7th grade, and stuff like this is actually one of my favorite parts of that age--they're funny and very honest. They're just discovering logic and these connections. I rarely met a 7th grader who could actually lie, the truth is written all over their faces.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow, I can so see the logic here LOL. I mean, what else can you say to the kid?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Lol! Kids are so funny. There are wise guys even in 7th grade.

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOL!! Haha. Cute. :) I don't know what I will do if my kids tell me that.

  52. Being a teacher I have heard and seen much more. Things to make to smile... laugh... and SCREAM. The kids do provide humor, but WOW ... you really never know what is going to come out of their mouths.
