1. Turn off the TV.
2. Turn off the computer.
3. Turn off the Xbox.
4. Turn off the cell phone.
5. Turn off anything that begins with an i.
Then you can exercise, read, think or pray. Gasp!
I think this is so true. I even apply this to my life. I am a sr. analyst and spend all day writing code on a computer. I then got into the habit of getting on our laptop or phone after i cooked dinner etc. i have decided to spend less time on the laptop and doing other family things at night. i even make sure the kids spend time just playing and not watching tv all day.
Short. Sweet. Simple Truth! I really enjoy your blog! Thanks for following Broken...returning the follow and look forward to more! http://www.thebrokenmommy.blogspot.com/

Short, sweet and SO true! Found you on a blog hop...forget which one already LOL but I did find you that way. Following and would love the follow back. BTW, we run a Wonderful Wednesday hop that's still active if you'd like to add your link!
Maybe we need a turn off everything once a week day. Kids might think that the world is coming to an end. lol! Game night is always a fun alternative don't you think? When family comes for parties I think we need a leave the phone at home rule. I noticed alot of them will just play on their phones anytime there is a lapse in entertainment. What ever happened to quiet time?
Hi there, well, you hit the nail on the head. I don't think kids today can manage without all these things. It would be a good idea for them to go without for at least a week and see where that takes them. Too bad mine are grown up or I would put it to the test. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris http://chelencarter-retiredandlovingit.blogspot.com/
Such good advice! I'm bad about being on the computer because I blog so much and I'm a college teacher for graphic design. Kind of comes with my profession.
We don't have cable. I refuse to get it because we both work full-time. My husband is with the kids 2 days in the middle of the week and works during the weekend. We're not divorced. It's just the only way we could keep our jobs and maintain our children. We do not have any game system. I'm so glad because our kids are so creative without it. Plus we joined the YMCA and it's time to spend being active.
I love this! I always used to say this when I was in high school! I used to yell at my brothers to turn off the TV so I could concentrate on homework and go outside! Now I tell my Dad this because he works with his TV on and I say he would have to work a lot less if he just turned his computer off!!
This post is hilarious!!!!! I'm sending it to my two teenagers right now! Thanks for visiting my blog. I love hearing your stories of just crazy everyday life. It's been nice visiting you.
