what it means to just suck it up

We are forever telling ourselves and our kids to just suck it up....forget about it, don't worry about it,move on....I will give you documented proof this is possible. It was Holy Thursday mass...and we were rushing to get there and not be late. I  got my jacket  from  the dryer,  put it on, and all 10 of us were in the club wagon. I was as usual reminding the kids to stand up straight, pay attention, don't sit on the pew  if your supposed to be kneeling. etc... and absolutely no talking or looking around. So prim and proper, We sat in the front pew. Then, during the sign of peace, which is towards the end of the mass,I turn around to shake the hands of the people behind me.. and she says to me, "Peace be with you too. There is something on your coat."  and, sure enough, when I reached behind, there was my husbands jock strap. Remember, we were sitting in the front pew....
